Gertrude was a stray cat living on the streets of Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, one day she got attacked by a pack of wild dogs.
Her life almost ended when a local woman discovered Gertrude and quickly rushed her to a veterinary clinic run by Compassion Without Borders (CWOB).
At the clinic they discovered that Gertrude was pregnant, but because of the attack her babies did not survive.
After her history with dogs, the last animal you would expect Gertrude to befriend at the clinic was a dog.
Clementine is a pup, she, with her three litter mates was being kept as pets, but their owner left them at the clinic and did not return for them, after they got sick.
Clementine was the only one to survive, and she quickly found a company with Gertrude.
Gertrude and Clementine are both survivors, and it’s rare to see a cat and dog get along so well.
